Gin Spotlight

Bareksten Botanical

This Norwegian gin is carefully crafted with pure, local ingredients creating a simple, clean but slightly subtle evergreen notes. It reminds us of the upcoming holiday seasons while perfectly accompanying cold nights and the warmth of a fireplace. All palettes, even sensitive, can enjoy with ice, Fever Tree Premium (light), and a lemon slice properly complement the simplicity of the cocktail.  Typically, we enjoy a 1:1.5 ratio of gin to tonic.

Representative of the simple Nordic approach to life, carefully enjoying a cocktail or two after a cold plunge or sauna (or both) in front of the fireplace while listening to your favorite Christmas songs is a popular way we life to closeout the evening.  Nyte!

Whiskey (Whisky) Spotlight

Bunnahabhain 12 Year Single Malt

This Scottish whisky is from Islay, located on the northeast end of the island, that is minimally peated. It has a delicate, subtle flavor profile with hints of salt and caramel coming through, especially when paired with the right amount of water. This is a good introductory whisky for those with more inexperienced palettes.

It is best enjoyed neat with a touch of water in front of the fireplace on a chilly, rainy, windswept evening listening to Cragieburn Wood by Emily Smith, Jamie McClennan in the highlands of Scotland. Tlachd!

Vodka Spotlight

Chopin Potato Vodka

This Polish vodka is from the eastern region of Poland, clean, consistent flavors. Vodka is one of the hardest spirits to do well as there is no place to hide when you do not do it well. This family owned premium distillery has been doing it so well that it is better than top-shelf brands found in most pubs and bars across the world. Sometimes less is more and with vodka's this can be especially true.

It is best enjoyed neat in a chilled Polska glass on a snowy day as the twilight starts to fade. Na zdrowie!

Aquavit Spotlight

Lysholm LINIE Aquavit - The Original

Lysholm LINIE Aquavit starts as neutral potato based spirit before being blended spices such as dill, anise, fennel, coriander and caraway to create a vibrant liquor. To add more depth to this liquor, it is matured in sherry casks on a ship as it circumnavigates the world and crosses the equator twice. This aquavit origin is one where the journey wrote the story.

It is best enjoyed as a Nordic Mule with 2:1 ginger beer to aquavit ratio, splash of lime juice over ice during a Christmas party celebration with close friends and family. Nyte!
